Thank you for visiting the Patients' page of the CentrEast Regional Extension Center (REC). The REC provides education and information to your healthcare providers to assist in learning health information technology and patient care. The physicians and providers have this information available as subscribers to our REC. In this web site, we also offer a variety of education materials such as factoids for the patients. Some examples are: what is an EHR? How can an EHR at your physician's office help you? What is a patient record? How can your patient record be kept private and secure? What is Health Information Exchange (HIE)? And so on. We add different factoids routinely to enrich patient's understanding of healthcare information technology concepts. We also have many articles available for you in case you want to go deep into many areas of healthcare information technology.
