CentrEast Regional Extension Center - Meaningful Use Services

Meaningful Use Services

All services and tools utilized by CentrEast Regional Extension Center focus on assisting the provider to meet meaningful use standards through adoption of EHR and effectively using the electronic data. Achieving meaningful use has multiple benefits for the providers ranging from (a) improvement in quality of care for patients, to (b) access of timely medical information and history, to (c) reaping the financial benefits in the form of ARRA incentives to the provider. CentreEast will provide a selection of services to facilitate compliance of meaningful use criteria including:

  • Consultation in understanding meaningful use, the evolution of the criteria, and how it impacts the providers.
  • Education and technical assistance for compliance with electronic data submission for meaningful use standards
  • Meaningful use analysis and certification in meeting the meaningful use criteria along with assistance in getting the ARRA incentives
  • Quality management service to provide a medium for the providers to comply with Physician Quality Reporting Initiative and electronic prescribing

Dr. Blumenthal Discusses Registration for EHR Incentive Programs

Dr. David Blumenthal, National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, announced that registration is now open for the Electronic Health Record Incentive Programs, administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Are you eligible for the Medicare & Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs?

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has released an eligibility tool to help determine if you qualify for one of the meaningful use incentive programs.

Meaningful Use Ruling

CMS proposes a common definition for meaningful use (MU) that would apply to eligible professionals (EPs), including physicians, participating in the Medicare Fee For Service (FFS) and Medicare Advantage (MA) electronic health record (EHR) incentive program, and would be the minimum standard for those participating in the Medicaid incentive program.
