Health Information Exchange
A practice’s connectivity and interoperability are important aspects progressing towards meeting meaningful use and being able to participate in community connectivity and exchange of patient information. CentrEast’s outreach service will stem from our efforts in developing a conceptualization of electronic health record, electronic medical record and PHR domain. This will include ability to evaluate and document a practice’s connectivity capability to pharmacies, radiology, and labs. CentrEast will officially certify the providers on their maturity in HIE capability along with meeting the meaningful use criteria. The services available to assist the provider in achieving certification will include:
- Assistance with strategic planning for EHR adoption
- Training for utilizing and exchanging electronic health information
- Seminars and workshops in HIE and interoperability
- Data maintenance services
- Education to assist providers in reaching each stage of meaningful use
- Assistance in educating the provider on reporting capabilities of their EHR systems
- Statistical analysis to assess impact on implementation of EHR in terms of improvement in quality of care, improvement of process, and efficient workflow
